Greenville AUTO ACCIDENT & WHIPLASH victims: We can help you avoid years of nagging pain or serious problems!
Types of Car Accident Injuries
There are many types of car accident injuries:
The first 24-78 hours after a car accident are crucial. Whiplash and injuries to the neck and back can occur even at pretty low speeds, and are often not felt right away. Post-accident stress and adrenaline can often mask pain from a car injury for several hours and even days.
If you've been in an auto accident, have been diagnosed with whiplash, or THINK you may have whiplash or other spinal injuries, you can't afford NOT to see a qualified injury recovery specialist right away. Delaying your treatment can delay your recovery!
Protect yourself with early detection and correction Whether or not you have any symptoms now, if you've been in an accident- however small -you might have undetected structural injuries such as whiplash, spinal subluxations (misalignments), or bone, soft tissue, or nerve damage that could cause you serious problems and expense weeks, months, even years down the road.
Even if you didn't have to go to the hospital or you went and the ER physician or your family doctor says you're fine except for whiplash or other mild soft-tissue damage, seek another opinion from an injury specialist immediately.
Why? Because the typical ER doctor or general practitioner (internist) is not specifically trained in structural injury and its potential long term effects. Even soft tissue injuries, particularly to spinal ligaments, can have serious long-term consequences if not correctly diagnosed and treated right away.
HOW LONG SHOULD I WAIT TO SEE A CHIROPRACTIC DOCTOR FOLLOWING A CAR ACCIDENT?
It can vary by the individual and severity of the accident, but within the first three to seven days it is generally recommended to see an auto injury chiropractor for a variety of reasons. From an injury perspective ;car accident chiropractors want to address the issue immediately to mitigate any further damage and accelerate the recovery process. Starting this process before symptoms peak can help aid the path to recovery.
From an insurance coverage perspective ; whether or not you are at fault, insurance companies give a relatively small window to seek care for injuries related to a car accident. As this window narrows, it can become increasingly challenging to receive compensation for continued professional medical care and post-accident therapy and rehabilitation.

WHAT IS WHIPLASH?
Whiplash, or sometimes called neck strain, refers to an injury of the neck that is the result of a sudden excessive force that causes the neck and head to jerk forward and then backward or vice versa, such as in an auto crash which causes damage to the muscle or tendons (the bands of tissue that connect muscles to bones). Similarly and yet different, neck sprains are caused by tearing of the ligaments (the tissues that connect the bones to each other). Both strains and sprains typically affect muscles, discs, nerves, ligaments, and tendons in the delicate structure of the neck and are treated similarly. These injuries can also occur in contact sports, other activities, or work accidents that might involve a sudden impact.
Although whiplash is a common injury experienced by millions of Americans every year, it can result in structural damage that is difficult to detect and correct. If not properly diagnosed and treated, these injuries can undermine the structural balance of the body and set off a "domino effect" that can exacerbate over time producing a wide variety of symptoms from headaches and extremity pain or numbness, to loss of mobility or even mental function. Whiplash injuries are a serious problem and 30% of whiplash injury patients still have problems one year after the accident.
If you are experiencing a headache that worsens or persists, have weakness or trouble talking, confusion, dizziness, nausea or are excessively sleepy, you need to see a doctor right away as you may be experiencing a concussion related to the injury which caused your whiplash.
Symptoms of Whiplash Injury
While each person will experience symptoms differently, any of the following could indicate a whiplash injury:
Will My Insurance Pay For Chiropractic Care?
If you've been in an auto accident, your insurance should pay for 100% care-at least up to a reasonable limit.
For other circumstances, coverage may depend on a few factors.
Do you have chiropractic coverage?
After diagnosis using physical examination and X-rays (CT scan, and/or MRI are sometimes also recommended), conventional medical treatments may involve ice applications, pain and anti-inflammatory medications, muscle relaxing medications, and/or physical rehabilitation. A cervical collar may be prescribed as well for severe cases.
The Chiropractic Alternative
Because Chiropractic Physicians are uniquely trained in human structure or biomechanics, they are uniquely qualified to address the structural damage that occurs in a whiplash injury. While they may use many of the same diagnostic and treatment tools, the care plan is designed to correct the underlying damage, not merely to mitigate the symptoms.
Relying less on drugs and more on an in-depth knowledge of correct or normal structural health, our chiropractor will use a series of adjustments and exercises or physical rehabilitation to relieve symptoms, restore normal alignment and function, and "retrain" muscles and soft tissue to "hold" the correction long-term. Best of all, MOST of these injuries can be treated naturally without risky surgeries or dangerous drugs by working with your body's innate healing powers.

Auto injuries are usually covered at 100% by the faulty party’s insurance.
First, remember, nothing is more important than your health, especially when you start to lose it.
Most people have one thing on their mind: their automobile!
They worry: "What about my car?" "What will I drive?" "What will happen to my insurance?" "Who is going to pay for this?"
The last thing on their minds is: "Have I been damaged?"
The damage from spinal nerve stress may take months or even years to surface, not to mention post-traumatic osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis can ruin your posture. Osteoarthritis can cause the discs in your spine to degenerate and create scarring, leading to chronic stiffness and the inability to move properly.
A Chiropractic exam and proper treatment can save an accident victim from much pain and disability later.
Our concern is to give you the care you need, if you need it. If we cannot help you, we will refer you to a doctor who can.
Second, remember, once you settle your case, you lose the right to have your insurance company pay for treatment if you need it.
A good rule of thumb is to be informed of your rights and then make a decision.
The first, most important step toward full recovery and prevention of serious long-term health problems is an accurate diagnosis and assessment of your injury with a recommended treatment plan.

I am a retired RN, and have had degenerative disc disease for over 12 yrs. This has caused me a great deal of pain in my lower back. Unable to walk or r do any of the normal everyday activities. I volunteer at the Shriners Hospital for children and was having to give up the one thing I enjoyed most in life. After being referred to Dr. Henry for decompression treatment, I have felt the best I have felt in 12 yrs. Able to return to volunteer work. Dr. Henry has the most extensive knowledge of the nerves and bones of the body to explain just what treatment is needed for a patient. I have the most trust and admiration for his professional opinion and I am walking proof of what he has recommended for my back and neuropathy in my feet. If you follow what he asks of you, chiropractic wellness benefits your whole well being. Thank you and may you bless everyone you touch.
My life is better. My whole outlook is better. Every time I come its something new! I'm happy after finishing decompression therapy!

Back and leg pain are gone and I'm back on the racquetball court.
I feel better than I have felt in 5 years.
Recovery from 16 mm disc herniation without surgery! I'm glad I got here! From crawling to standing!
I avoided back surgery. I went from a 10/10 pain scale to a zero most of the time.
For 15 years I have had pain, which hindered daily activities not to mention the depression the pain caused because of the chronic never ending aspect t. All this stemmed from an auto accident, arthritis and scoliosis. All is Dr. Henry handled and kept me walking. As three years went by the back developed more problems from age. Dr. Henry suggested the new state-of-the-art spinal decompression machine, ice, and cold laser treatment. Six weeks later I can again walk my dog, play in the yard (work) and feel like a human being again with zero pain. Yes, zero pain. At first the suggestion seemed "maybe" and "expensive". Now... How can one possibly put a price on being pain-free! Thank you, Dr. Henry and staff! You listened, you cared about my pain, and you encouraged me to follow through all with positive, uplifting experience. I am so grateful words cannot express how thankful I am. Thank you for giving me my life back.
Pain 80-90% improved with decompression!
Back pain decreased 80% with decompression. Anyone with real serious back pain should come see you!
I went to Dr. Henry with lower back and hip pain. The pain was so intense in July of 2012 that it was affecting my daily activities and my sleep. The pain had become unmanageable. Dr. Henry did an x-ray and sent me for an MRI. The results were that I had moderate L4 - S1 chronic degenerative disc disease. I also had a bulging disc. Dr. Henry recommended the decompression treatment. I began the treatment and immediately found relief from the pain. I still see Dr. Henry for adjustments for a hip injury that is unrelated to the disc issue. I also periodically have a decompression treatment to decompress the disc in my spine for maintenance. I recommend this treatment to anyone I felt that I was at the point of having to have surgery and decompression was a much better option. Thank you to Dr. Henry and the staff for their help and compassion during my treatment.
I just want to thank you for saving my life. I was scheduled for back surgery when I saw your ad on TV for spinal decompression and a after six weeks of decompression therapy I feel great.
I have had chronic pain since I was 13 years old. It's gotten worse over the last five years to the point of not being able to walk. Dr. Henry took th he time to get a proper diagnosis, explain the problems I was having and reasons why - I fractured my back 20 years ago and the vertebrae shifted and now I have a spondylolisthesis. Dr. Henry recommended spinal decompression. It is wonderful to be able to wake up and not be in pain. I still have to be careful and I do have some pain but to be this pain-free is so worth it. Thank you! Everyone in the office is very knowledgeable and friendly and I recommended this practice to my friends and family. Dr. Henry has seen two of my three children both suffered from headaches and both of experienced great relief.
No pain for the first time in 10 years! I highly recommend Decompression with Dr. Henry.
20 years plus in pain. Now doing great! I am able to stand at the kitchen sink.
Numerous treatments (with a file to prove it!) have taken the pain and stress out of my neck from years of stressful teaching!
